The Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska receives grant funding from the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for projects and services related to concussions and domestic violence prevention and awareness. We were presented with an opportunity to advertise in the Lincoln Journal Star's High School Football Special using some of those grant funds.
We opted to purchase one full page ad space and two quarter-page ads for the print publication. This package of ads came with digital display ad spaces on the Lincoln Journal Star website.
I further developed this campaign to include a press release that was sent out to media outlets across Nebraska, an awareness toolkit for our Executive Director to send out to school administrators and resource groups across the state, and a social media campaign.
The overall goal of this campaign was to increase the awareness of proper recognition and management of concussions for students, targeting parents and teachers to help build awareness and encourage use of the resources available on the Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska's website.
Between August 30 and October 20 (the peak duration of the campaign), downloads of concussion-related materials accounted for 29.2 percent of all downloads on the Brain Injury Alliance of Nebraska's website.
